Kevin Carson on PressTV, 07/06/11

C4SS Research Associate Kevin Carson briefly spoke with the U.S. Desk of Iranian PressTV on the topic of how the U.S. economy is structured by wars. It’s not clear at this time why PressTV incorrectly used a photo of Walter Block to identify Carson. Listen here.

The PressTV folks have a wry sense of humour, I see.

  2. If you image-google "Kevin Carson," that pic of Walter is one of the ones that pops up. So that's a semi-explanation. Only semi, because it's the 43rd or 44th pic that pops up. (Though it rises to 22nd if you use Safe Search.)

  3. Readers – and maybe even KC himself – may wish to follow up and/or comment on the Mises blog entry on that talk. In particular, they have a throw away and completely unbacked assertion that ‘Sadly, his comments on saving a depression with defense spending since WWII and a “surplus” needed to be spent on a war economy are utterly misguided’.

  4. George: FWIW, the Wikipedia article about Kevin fall in, among others, the category “1963 births.” There’s no other indication that there’s a source for “1963,” but your estimate is at least quite consistent with what’s there.

Thomas: the updated (post-Block) image in the Press TV video is reputed to be accurate.
