  1. This is a really outstanding piece. It nails both sets of issues: the the things the state does to limit access by raising costs through cartelization, and the things the state does to limit access by reducing disposable income, access to decent housing, etc., through cartelization, regulation, and so forth. As long as we treat the problem as one of retaining current levels of compensation to doctors, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, insurers, and other market participants while expanding the number of people with access to health care services, we can hardly be surprised if it seems insoluble.
